Strategic marketing and communications for organizations ready to see the bigger picture.

Good marketing is rarely about doing more.

Often, the real challenge is understanding what deserves attention, where the message is getting lost, and why the people you want to reach are not taking the next step.

I work with organizations that need an experienced strategic perspective on their marketing and communications. I help uncover the gaps, connect the pieces, and create a clearer path forward.

My work is at the intersection of messaging, positioning, audience insight, communication strategy, and conversion.  I work with organizations doing meaningful work in education, travel and hospitality, nonprofits, conservation, professional services, and other purpose or experience-driven spaces.

I understand both the forest and the trees. My role is to help you determine which trees actually need your attention.

What We Offer

Marketing & Communications Audit

When you know something is not quite working, but you are too close to it to see why.

A strategic audit takes a close look at how your organization is presenting itself, communicating with its audience, and moving people from awareness to action.

Depending on your needs, I may review areas such as:

  • Brand positioning and key messaging

  • Website structure, content, and calls to action

  • Audience journey and communication touch points

  • Email and nurture communications

  • Social and content strategy

  • Campaign alignment

  • Conversion opportunities and points of friction

  • Consistency across marketing and communication channels

You will receive clear findings, prioritized recommendations, and practical direction about what deserves attention first.

This is not a list of everything you could be doing.  I ask a lot of questions.  And design a thoughtful assessment of what is most likely to make a difference.

Strategic Communications Roadmap

When you have plenty of ideas, initiatives, and activity, but need a clearer direction.

The Strategic Communications Roadmap turns complexity into an actionable plan.

We begin by looking at your goals, audiences, existing communications, opportunities, and current constraints. From there, I develop a focused strategy that guides your organization to understand where to invest its time, attention, and resources.

Your roadmap may include:

  • Audience priorities and communication goals

  • Messaging and positioning recommendations

  • Customer or stakeholder journey insights

  • Channel and content priorities

  • Campaign opportunities

  • Communication gaps and opportunities

  • Recommendations for improving engagement and conversion

  • A prioritized 90-day action plan

The goal is not to create more work. It is to create enough clarity that you know what to do next, what can wait, and what may not need to be done at all.

Fractional Marketing & Communications Strategy

Senior-level strategic support without adding another full-time executive.

Some organizations do not need another person producing content. They need someone who can step back, ask better questions, connect decisions across teams, and make sure marketing and communications are moving in the same direction.

Fractional strategy engagements provide ongoing access to experienced marketing and communications leadership on a flexible basis.

Depending on the organization, I may support:

  • Marketing and communications planning

  • Brand positioning and messaging

  • Audience and stakeholder strategy

  • Campaign and initiative development

  • Customer journey and conversion strategy

  • Executive and leadership communications

  • Website and digital strategy

  • Communications systems and processes

  • Internal team or vendor guidance

  • Measurement, insights, and strategic recommendations

I can work alongside leadership, internal teams, agencies, or freelancers to provide the strategic layer that keeps execution aligned with the larger goal.

Starting at $2,500/month

A Thoughtful Second Set of Eyes

Sometimes you do not need a full engagement.

You need an experienced person to look at the situation with fresh eyes, challenge a few assumptions, and help you determine the smartest next move.

Strategic consulting sessions are available for organizations working through questions around messaging, positioning, audience engagement, marketing priorities, or communication challenges.

If the problem feels difficult to neatly categorize, that is often where I do my best work.

How I Work

I am curious before I am prescriptive.

I ask questions. I look for patterns. I pay close attention to the audience experience as much as the organization's intentions.

I am not interested in recommending more content, more platforms, or more tactics simply because they are available.

I am interested in helping you understand what is actually happening, what matters most, and what will move the work forward.

With more than 25 years across marketing, communications, branding, higher education, nonprofit organizations, and consulting, I bring both strategic perspective and practical understanding. I know what a strategy looks like on paper, but I also know what it takes to make one work in the real world.

If you are looking for someone to simply add more tasks to the marketing calendar, I may not be the right fit.

If you are looking for someone who can help you see the bigger picture and make better decisions within it, let’s talk.
